Group project created with students from Parsons School of Design during the intensive critical workshops in the Palace of Culture in Warsaw.

The palace of culture is a grey monolyth dominating Warsaw. Or so we have been told. This project subverts the received, cliche meanings of the palace as uniform and monotone, They are reinforced by the incessant reproductions of its facades. As we explored the palace, we have found it to be full of surprising, fanciful, sometimes outright weird ornaments.

Using the optical principles Fotoplastykon, we propose a binocular device that brings the inside of the palace out, allowing people to encounter the palace in a different ways.
